Python Workshop with St. Andrews University WICS Club
09.18.2018
I had the pleasure of leading a Python workshop for the St. Andrews University Women in Computer Science Club’s first event of the year!
The event had an amazing turnout with over 70 attendees, the majority of whom were women and half who had never coded before! I walked everyone through the how-to’s of building a Chatbot in Python using an online IDE and skeleton code that I had provided. It was “Friends” themed featuring lots of classic Joey lines and the “Friends” theme song.
Afterwards we went out to a social at a local pub and I had the chance to connect with members of the club. Huge shoutout to the board for inviting me to present and for putting together such a fantastic event! And congratulations to Ashley Llewellyn for founding a society that will provide support to St. Andrews women in computer science for years to come!
